COMMUNITY-LED EXPLORATION, WILDLIFE TRACKING AND FIELD RESEARCH
In the Bolivian Amazon Jungle
ABOUT CERRO BRUJO
Cerro Brujo is a community-led conservation and exploration initiative developed by young members of the Tacana community of Villa Alcira, located in the buffer zone of Madidi National Park — one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth.
At the intersection of rainforest, wildlife and Indigenous territory, this landscape remains largely understudied despite its ecological importance. The project focuses on exploring, documenting and understanding this part of the forest while supporting the long-term protection of the territory
Working in a landscape where scientific research remains limited due to logistical constraints, our work combines Indigenous ecological knowledge with field-based scientific methods to generate a more grounded understanding of the territory.
